Day 3 New Idea Book - For Always Patterned Paper

Today I have been working with another new Close to My Heart Paper Pack called "For Always".  As the name suggests this black and white paper is an excellent backdrop for Wedding photos or for wedding accessories (invitations, menus, favour boxes, etc).  However, the great thing about black and white is that it goes with anything.  This paper will work with any colour or theme you can think of.  And - the best part -  co-ordinating fabric.  Yes Fabric!  I am going to have way to much fun finding fun and pretty things for us to create with the new Close to My Heart Textiles that come in two different sets - one to co-ordinate with the For Always papers and one that co-ordinates with the Chantilly papers.

Here is a simple layout I created with the For Always papers.  I added Pacifica and Sky cardstock with the pattern paper at the request of my daughter.  The flower is made with the CTMH For Always Textiles and embellished with a glitter button from the new Black Button Assortment.  The title is cut using the Artiste Cricut Collection from Black cardstock and painted with the Create a Shade Pearl Paint.

Next is a super quick card.  Honestly I took about two minutes to make. The heart is from our new Glitter Paper that is - Cricket Compatible - yes it's true.  I cut this myself!  You will not believe how nicely this paper cuts on your cricut.  Those of you that took advantage of the Whoo's Your Valentine promotion last might have already got a sneak peak at the Glitter paper.  You are going to love it!!

Cricut Craft Room and Close to My Heart Artiste

Using the Close to My Heart Artiste Cricut Cartridge and Dimensional Elements I created this cute little frame in a snap.  I even created the easel stand by melding two shapes together in Cricut Craft Room (go to www.cricut.com to download for free).

If you would like to learn how to make this yourself, send me an e-mail and we will set up a consultation time for you.

Cricut Craft Room is on-line design software now offered free at cricut.com.  In conjunction with your own cricut cartridges, you can create all kinds of wonderful new projects.

I have been using the Cricut Craft Room quite a bit lately and have really been enjoying the flexibility to alter and create new shapes to cut.   And when cutting out a number of images you can place them on your mat in any layout you like - I have saved many pages of cardstock, by planning my cutting.

Trimming the Tree

Finally with less than a week to go before Christmas we got our tree put up!

Because this is the first year with cats in the house, the girls decided that it would be best to not put any ornaments on the tree, only lights.  So we have a very simple tree this year, adorned only with white lights and this paper star that I made with the Artiste Cricut Cartridge.

I found the design and instructions for this star at my new favourite website  Cricut with Heart.  If you have either of the Close to My Heart Cricut Cartridges or are thinking of getting one of them you must check out this site.  They post a new project/item each day made using either the Art Philosophy or Artiste Cricut Cartridge.

If you are interested in these great Cricut Cartridges, just send me an e-mail to get more information, set up an appointment to get a demo, or you can order on-line by using the Shop Now link on the right side of this page.

Time to get back to making lists and enjoying the beautiful snowfall out my window!

Have a wonderful day,

Heather

Visit with Santa

Picture is from a few years ago, one of my favourites of Santa and the girls.  I was very happy to finally get it on a scrapbook page.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

I created this page for a Demo I did at a recent crop. The paper strip down the left side and the matting we created using plain kraft cardstock and inking it with Ruby Ink using one of the Close to My Heart Texture Tools. Poinsettia is Ruby Cardstock cut out using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  Tag and Leaves are Olive Cardstock leaves from Art Philosophy and Tag and Title from Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  Background is Ponderosa Pine Cardstock. Used one of the nifty Foundry Pin Clips to highlight the year.
